Good Morning Conference, when considering this election people often say that political parties should not be involved. In fact our own English regional party said exactly that. Yet to get elected any person standing needed a group of like minded friends to help deliver leaflets on a cold day or knock on doors, and as a member of this party for over 25 years my obvious group of friends to help are you.

Good evening, Ladies & Gentleman of Fareham, like many people involved in public life I wear a number of hats, I'm an Eastleigh Borough Councillor, I'm Chair at West End Parish Council, a Bitterne Park School Governor, a Southampton Advice & Representation board member, I'm the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire's scrutiny committee Chair. But in this role as PCC candidate for Hampshire and Isle of Wight I am also wearing my first ever hat, that of a Policeman's son.

Good morning fellow Liberal Democrats I am particularly interested in this motion because on November 16th I hope to be the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and Isle of Wight. For those that are unaware in less than 60 days time on November 15th there are nationwide elections taking place and they are not using first past the post.

Good evening fellow Liberal Democrats, I am David Goodall and I am your Police and Crime Commissioner Candidate for Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
Many of you know that and know my personal background. However I am aware not all are when after a Community Safety Forum a fellow Eastleigh Councillor said I must be careful when talking to the Police and with confidential information.

Good morning conference with all the talk of credit crunch, banking crisis and mountains of debt one could forgiven in thinking that was the main problem facing the world was one financial services and that to create a fairer economy all that has to be done is to create a better banking system.
Yet that is far from true the bankers in the city of London make money but they do not create wealth. The people that create wealth are those that take on the loans, repay them with interest and still make enough money to pay a workforce and return a profit.

Good morning conference this is a very wide ranging motion that will when implemented completely change the face of politics in Britain. And I say 'when implemented' deliberately. This motion must implemented not just because we as Liberal Democrats we think it will be a jolly good idea but because this country needs a step change in the way we do politics, the current political system is broken.

Good morning and thanks for inviting me.
This morning I am going to talk about just two things firstly what the Liberal Democrats vision for the future is and secondly about the importance of voting. But first a bit about me
I am 47 years old, married to my lovely wife Kerstin for 21 years this year, we have two 13 year old boys Wesley and Samuel, who both go Bitterne Park Secondary School.

Good afternoon and thanks for inviting me.
This afternoon I am going to talk about just two things firstly what the Liberal Democrats vision for the future is and secondly why you should vote on 6th May. But first a bit about me
Many of you will have read the brief biography about me, so you will you know I am 47 years old, married to my lovely wife Kerstin for 21 years this year, we that have two boys Wesley and Samuel, who both go Secondary School here in Southampton.

Good morning conference. I am here today to speak in favour of the motion and of item 5 in the motion to reduce the burden of student debt.
I could be speaking in favour of these lines for the obvious reason of being a father of 12 year old twin boys and purely looking at their financial and educational future.

I will, of course, be supporting the Liberal Democrats budget with the proposed 1.8% average increase in the Eastleigh Borough Council Tax. The consist effect of keeping the regressive Council Tax low over 6 Years has been and will continue to be of great benefit to all the Boroughs residents.
On the issue of concessionary travel David Airey has given a detailed explanation of the services offered, which are in excess of the requirement we have to offer. He explained about:-

I will be supporting this budget but before I do a quick word about the proposals from the opposition :-

Eastleigh Borough Council's full council meeting motion on Moorgreen Hospital :-
Council notes that at a recent meeting with Southampton Primary Care Trust the owners of the Moorgreen Hospital site revealed that significant parts of the site are regarded as surplus to future health service requirements and are likely to be sold for redevelopment.

Good evening I am David Goodall I was a Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate here in Southampton last year and I am a councillor in Eastleigh and Chair of the Environment and Transport Scrutiny Panel in Eastleigh.
This evening I aim to talk to you about environment issues and some of the ideas that the Liberal Democrats have as a party to tackle this issue and then we can have a general discussion about the issues. So I aim be brief in order that we can have a fuller debate about the issues.

Hello I am David Goodall the Liberal Democrats Candidate from Southampton Itchen. I was born in Southampton and started my school days at Glenfield Infants. It would appear that I have not moved very far as I am now at Townhill Infants, as a Governor.
Now just for the record, the stats :-

Hello I am David Goodall the Liberal Democrat candidate for Southampton Itchen. I am 42, married and we have children at and currently I am working as a senior manager for Siemens at Roke Manor Research, developing the next generation of communication systems.
I was born in Southampton my first school was Glenfield infants I am now a governor at Townhill Infants and a councillor in West End.

Firstly may I thank the Parish Council for organising this meeting. It builds on the informal meetings that the both the HEWEB committee has had with both Inspector Newstead and Geoff Cox in the past and the excellent work that Kerry Payne has done on behalf the Telegraph Road residents association to highlight various issues.

Good morning I am David Goodall from the Liberal Democrats, and I have been invited today to talk to you on the subject of Europe Friend or Foe. This is an interesting title it is about defining our relationship with the rest of Europe.
I believe the best analogy to use when defining this relationship is one of family. Over the centuries we have fought with, and been friends with, many of the countries in Europe. And speaking as someone with a German wife and therefore a German mother-in-law, I find it particularly easy to see our European relationships in family terms.

Well we all have probably heard the saying that there are only two certainties in life - Death and Taxes.
Generally people recognise that taxes are required the point that most people make is that taxes should be fair.
The proceeding local tax the poll tax was widely recognised as unfair and the result was wide spread non-payment, protests in the street and eventually even the government listened.

Well we have had some very interesting speeches on this budget tonight. And we also had a briefing on the background to the budget by Nick Tustian, the council's head of Financial Services last Tuesday.
The two main elements that came out of the briefing were the need to keep healthy balances at a minimum level of 10% of net spend, and that currently expenditure exceeds income by about £500k per year.
