Good morning conference with all the talk of credit crunch, banking crisis and mountains of debt one could forgiven in thinking that was the main problem facing the world was one financial services and that to create a fairer economy all that has to be done is to create a better banking system.

Good morning conference this is a very wide ranging motion that will when implemented completely change the face of politics in Britain. And I say 'when implemented' deliberately. I will, of course, be supporting the Liberal Democrats budget with the proposed 1.8% average increase in the Eastleigh Borough Council Tax. The consist effect of keeping the regressive Council Tax low over 6 Years has been and will continue to be of great benefit to all the Boroughs residents.
