During a visit the village local MP Chris Huhne also saw how the Borough deals with graffiti, StreetCare Chargehand Jeff Smith demonstrating the high pressure cleaning system that is deployed when graffiti or 'tags' are reported to the Council's Direct Services Unit.

Commenting on the StreetCare team's work local councillor David Goodall said:-

"The StreetCare team perform an excellent job all year round keeping to the appearance of our Borough and West End village at a good standard."

And reflecting on their task he said :-

"It is a bit of and never ending battle but I believe that it is one that is well worth continuing to fight otherwise we will end up living a downtrodden tired looking place and I am sure no one really wants that."
